The Seattle Kraken have a chance to win the series later this evening. If Seattle wins, it will be the first time in their history that they have won a playoff round. In a matchup that has brought so many surprises, it won’t be a surprise if Seattle closes it out now based on how they’ve played.

With all that being said, let’s look at three things to keep an eye on in tonight’s game six.

1. Cale Makar is back after serving his one-game suspension.

The Avs superstar defenseman will make his return after serving a one-game suspension for his hit on Jared McCann.

Obviously, Makar will be a huge addition to Colorado as he is undoubtedly a top defenseman in the league. It’ll be interesting to see if the Kraken will try to get any retaliation on Makar or not.

The Kraken have a chance to close out the series at home.

For the Avalanche, Makar coming back keeps their hopes alive in this series. For Seattle, they need to keep playing their game and not focus on getting back at Makar. As a young team in the playoffs, this will be interesting to watch to see if they can quickly move past Makar’s hit.

2. The Avs’ big three are going to have to win the series for them.

I’ve said this in almost every article I’ve written while covering this series: The Avs needed secondary scoring to win the series and can’t rely on the superstars to get it done.

At this point, it’s clear that they aren’t going to get that, so the big three are going to have to win the series for them, simple as that.

This Avalanche team simply does not have the depth that the championship team did last year. If they win this series, it’s going to be tough for them to make any sort of deep run.

3. Seattle, it’s your time.

Seattle has everything going for it in tonight’s game. The Kraken have constantly shown the ability to score first, roll out four lines constantly, wear the opponent down, and get consistent, solid goaltending.

It’s all up to them now. Will the moment be too big for them, or will they shock the world and knock out the defending champs? We’ll find out later tonight.
