The Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights have played two straight blowout games. Each team earned a 5-1 win in the last two, which isn’t what we necessarily expected in this series. It felt like it would be more like the first game, which was close the entire time.

Vegas now has the advantage, as they were the most recent team in the matchup to win. They earned that aforementioned 5-1 victory after being blown out in the game prior, and they looked very good while doing it.

They needed more from Jack Eichel after watching Connor McDavid tear things up in the first two games, and they got it. He had a goal and two assists for three points, while McDavid didn’t tally a single point in the game which rarely ever happens.

In order for Vegas to keep this loud Edmonton team down, they need guys like Eichel to produce in addition to the other stars on the team.

The Edmonton Oilers need to push back on the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 4.

For Edmonton, they need another pushback if they are going to win the series. They need this tied up at two wins a piece. How is that going to happen?

Well, Connor McDavid can’t go pointless two games in a row. He likely won’t. They also need Leon Draisaitl to continue dominating as he had all playoffs minus that last game (he also went pointless).

The depth that Edmonton has built (their 12 best forwards all had double-digit goals) in the regular season needs to support the stars as well.

Edmonton’s power play is out of this world. In fact, it was the best in terms of percentage in the history of the NHL this season, and it has gotten even better during the playoffs.

They might want to get back on the board that way against Vegas. The problem for them is the fact that the Golden Knights are usually one of the least penalized teams in the league (they took the fewest in the NHL this regular season).

This is a series that always felt like one that was going to go the distance, and right now, it looks like it very well could be the case. Expect Edmonton to come out firing in this one so they can at least get one at home before going back to Vegas.
