The 2023 NHL Draft is almost here! The draft is a big day throughout the NHL to help reset teams and stock up their prospect pool for the future. It is also a big moment for trades with so many general managers all in the same place, so let’s dive in with everything to know ahead of the draft.

2023 NHL Draft: Date, Time, TV Schedule, Predictions

The 2023 NHL Draft will take place over two days starting with round one on Wednesday Jun. 28 at 7 p.m. ET. Then rounds two through seven will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday Jun. 29.

Splitting the draft over two days is a good way to keep the event exciting. The first round is special and should be a big moment, hence why it occurs on its own day, and this year’s draft has a lot of talented players available to go in the first round.

This year’s Draft is taking place in Nashville, the same place where the NHL Awards took place on Monday night. Round one of the draft will be telvised on ESPN and ESPN+ while day two of the draft will air on NHL Network as well as on ESPN+.

As for predictions for the draft, there is no question who is going first overall. Connor Bedard looks like the generational talent that can alter a franchise for years to come. The Blackhawks are going to be drafting him with the first overall pick. As for what comes after Bedard, it looked like it was a slam dunk pick that the Anaheim Ducks would take a guy like Adam Fantilli, a big capable center. However, now it looks like the second overall pick could go in a lot of different directions.

The draft is one of the most exciting times in the NHL. It is the big moment to turn the corner towards the next NHL Season, and it will be interesting to see who the winners and losers of the draft are when all is said and done.
