Why Carolina Hurricanes fans should be excited for the 2023-24 season

The Carolina Hurricanes had a successful season in 2022-23 making it all the way to the Conference Final before being swept at the hands of the Florida Panthers. While the way the season ended might have left a bad taste for fans, there is still a lot to get excited about entering the 2023-24 season.
Why Carolina Hurricanes fans should be excited for the 2023-24 season
The Hurricanes went out this offseason and added a few really big players to their organization in Dmitry Orlov and Michael Bunting. Bunting will be a great addition to an already electric offense, and Orlov provides the Hurricanes with another elite defenseman to their already stacked blue line.
The Hurricanes blue line consists of Orlov, Slavin, Burns, Skjei and Pesce, this is a great group that will help shut down opponents night in and night out this upcoming season. Additionally the team signed Tony Deangelo and Caleb Jones this offseason. Deangelo is another good signing from this offseason as he could be a big part of the blue line in years to come.
Offensively, the addition of Michael Bunting makes this team just a little bit deeper. With the Hurricanes coming up short the past few postseasons, adding a player like Bunting could help get this team to the next level.
Bunting has scored 23 goals in each of the last two seasons, and is someone the Hurricanes can use up and down their lineup. The Hurricanes might not have made any big trades this offseason, but the additions they made were definitely smart.

Carolina fans will have a contending team to watch once again this season. The Hurricanes should compete once again with the Devils for the top spot in the Metro division, and with so many teams in the East looking to contend, there will be plenty of good games to watch this upcoming season. Overall the 2023-24 season should be a lot of fun, and the Hurricanes have one of the best teams to make it out of the Eastern Conference and potentially win the Stanley Cup!
