The Philadelphia Flyers are making some changes off the ice that are making them a better franchise overall.

Sometimes, in order for things to get better on the ice, things need to change in other departments. Their entire front office has been revamped and it feels fresh.

Maybe the TV or radio broadcast doesn’t directly impact the product that will be on the ice but it can show that decision making is on the right track.

The Flyers made an addition to their TV booth that will make games incredibly enjoyable to watch. Brian Boucher is returning to NBC Sports Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Flyers are making a really smart addition on television.

He is going to be the lead analyst alongside play-by-play man Jim Jackson. Of course, that job used to belong to Keith Jones but he is not in the front office.

Boucher has been with NBC Sports Philadelphia before and he has most recently been a great analyst on national broadcasts. This man knows his hockey and does a great job portraying that knowledge.

He also played in the NHL for a long time as a goaltender. Clearly, he has some inside knowledge that others might not because of this.

Boucher played in the NHL for 13 years. 6 of those years were in a Flyers sweater which is the most of any team. He also had stints with the Phoenix Coyotes, San Jose Sharks, Calgary Flames, Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks, and Carolina Hurricanes.

This is a really good career move for him and hockey fans are lucky because they’ll get to hear him talk about the game even more often. He will still do national games as well.

Sometimes, it is nice to see these younger and very talented people get these kinds of jobs. Brian Boucher is the perfect example of it. It should be really fun to watch these games this year as the Flyers try to build toward a bigger and better future.
