Five Blackhawks players’ jerseys worth getting for the future
The halls of the United Center are always going to be filled with #19 and #88, but when it comes to the future stars of the Chicago Blackhawks, which players are going to standout from the rest?
Five Blackhawks players’ jerseys worth getting for the future.
For this list, I am only discussing players that are going to be here for the foreseeable future, so while I do think a Corey Perry Blackhawks jersey or Nick Foligno jersey would be a really cool Hawks jersey to own, they are not going to be on this list. Let’s dive in with the obvious choice to start.
1. Connor Bedard #98
The United Center already is filled with Bedard jerseys. Even though the Hawks have only played two home games so far, the United Center might already have as many Bedard jerseys at the game as they do Kane or Toews. Bedard is the new face of the franchise, someone who will hopefully have a lot of success in Chicago, you cannot go wrong picking up a Bedard jersey.
2. Lukas Reichel #27
Reichel is another clear choice. While he has struggled early in the season, the Blackhawks believe he is going to be a top six forward on this team for years to come. Adding his jersey to your collection might be a good decision if you want to be a little unique from everyone else grabbing a Bedard jersey. Although, I would maybe wait on this one until after he signs a contract extension in Chicago, he is set to become an RFA this offseason.
3. Alex Vlasic #72
The Blackhawks drafted Alex Vlasic in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft and he has looked like an absolute tank on the blue line so far. Vlasic has size and skill, he is already playing almost 20 minutes a night and there is a good chance he could be a big part of the Blackhawks defensive game for years to come.
4. Seth Jones #4
Seth Jones might not be the most popular player in Chicago. Yes his contract is big, and yes the team gave up a lot to add him in a trade, but at the same time, when the Blackhawks turn the corner on this rebuild Jones is still going to be on this team. He is a very capable defensemen and is a good leader in the locker room. When the Blackhawks start having more success on the ice, I think fans are going to see Jones in a more favorable light, his jersey might be a fan favorite down the line. (I am a fan of retiring #4 for Niklas Hjalmarsson though.)
5. Kevin Korchinski #55
The final player to mention on this list is another defensemen. The Blackhawks drafted Kevin Korchinski with the seventh overall pick in 2022 and since then he has been the team’s top defensive prospect. Since making the jump to the NHL he has dished out two assists and is already getting utilized in the top four having played alongside both Connor Murphy and Seth Jones early in the season.
With the holiday season just around the corner, there is a good chance fans at the United Center will be wearing new jerseys sooner rather than later. These five players might be the jerseys fans wear in the halls this season, although Bedard probably will dominate the Blackhawks store above the rest for the foreseeable future.
