The Chicago Blackhawks were lucky to have Patrick Kane for as long as they did. They were even better than they could have ever hoped for during his tenure there. Since then, he has played for the New York Rangers (via trade) and will now take his talents to the Detroit Red Wings.

We found out that Kane was going there on Tuesday morning. This is big news as Patrick Kane is one of the best players to play hockey in the last decade or more. He is very much one of the greatest players in the history of the NHL.

So far in his career, Kane has 1180 games played. In those games played, he has 451 goals, 786 assists, and 1237 points. He has all sorts of individual accolades including the Hart Trophy as league MVP to go with three Stanley Cup championships.

He has been amazing himself and made others around him better as well. The Wings are already a really good team so bringing a guy like this to help them out may be a big key to even more success. Detroit has so many good young players who will benefit from practicing and playing with Kane.

He brings a lot of things to the table in terms of being a hockey player. The Red Wings specifically should be very excited that they got him. There are a few reasons for that:

Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat have a ton of good chemistry together.

Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat played together during their time with the Chicago Blackhawks. Jonathan Toews is the only player in the history of the NHL to score more goals assisted by Kane than DeBrincat which is remarkable to think about.

Now, these two are reunited in Detroit and are both in their first years with this franchise. It may take a minute to get their chemistry back to what it once was. Kane didn’t have success regaining that connection with Artemi Panarin in New York so the hope is that this is different.

DeBrincat is off to a marvelous start this year as he has 12 goals and 8 assists for 20 points in 21 games played. He has been a big part of the success that Detroit has had up to this point.
