Patrick Kane’s return to Chicago is going to be an absolutely incredible night

Patrick Kane won’t be in the lineup for Chicago Blackhawks vs Detroit Red Wings hockey in Detroit on Thursday night. However, there is still a matchup between these two that fans can be excited about.

On Sunday, February 5th, the Chicago Blackhawks are going to take on the Detroit Red Wings at the United Center. That will be Kane’s first time playing there as a member of the road team.

It is also going to be the day that the Blackhawks retire the number seven jersey number worn by legendary defenseman Chris Chelios.

Of course, like Kane, Chelios played for both franchises. It is going to be perfect having Kane in the building wearing a Red Wings sweater for this one.

At the end of the day, Kane is going to always be a Chicago Blackhawk. That is the team that made him an American hockey legend. He is also a three-time champion with that franchise and one of their greatest players ever.

There will never be bad blood but seeing him go up against the Hawks is surely going to be interesting to see. It will be especially fun (and ironic) to see it happen on the night that Chelios is getting his jersey retired.
