This is an era where blockbuster trades will happen frequently. It started with Mikko Rantanen being traded from Colorado to Carolina. Now is the time the Vancouver Canucks organization may make a move or two to complete their current roster.
Even though the Canucks are struggling at the moment, they still have a solid roster capable of competing. The team is ready to excel if management makes critical adjustments to the roster because the drama in the locker room is currently influencing the team's ability to win.
The main ingredient would be to add a top-six scorer who doesn't mind scoring with the current Vancouver squad on a nightly basis. The Canucks need to get the drama out of the organization's demeanor and focus on keeping their best foot forward to win games.
A trade that could be good for the Canucks would be to trade a coveted forward to the New York Rangers for a forward who has been unhappy with the current situation within the organization.
The Vancouver Canucks/New York Rangers trade
The New York Rangers have had their hot-streaks and their cold streaks so far this season, just like the Canucks. The Rangers require fresh forwards to lead the team in the future. The team could be in a rebuilding stage, trying to take a broad look at their current roster.
Mike Zibanejad
Zibanejad would be a great addition to the Vancouver roster, where he can take his leadership qualities to another level. His scoring ability would complement the team's need for a new direction. Playing with forward Brock Boesor will give the Canucks a new combination of firepower.
The Vancouver Canucks need a new leadership approach amongst the players on the team. His direction would give the Canucks organization someone reliable and meaningful to take the club to another stage.
His presence on the ice would give the team a better approach to winning games. He also takes charge of defensive coverages to set other players up with his playmaking ability. He would be an excellent fit for the franchise and could become a franchise player.
Elias Pettersson
Pettersson's departure and trade to New York would certainly bolster their chances for a Stanley Cup because of the depth the team will have amassed. Also, he will fit in with the team thanks to his speed, something the Rangers don't currently have on their roster.
The drama in Vancouver with Pettersson and J.T. Miller is far beyond repair, and the suggestion of trading both would be an ideal move by the Canucks organization. Especially after the whole ordeal a few seasons before with Bruce Boudreau.
Both players would benefit from this change. It will help them regain their focus and ability to perform the way fans expected them to.
