An interesting trade scenario between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks have two-star players on their active roster who might be on the trade market; Ellias Petterson and J.T. Miller, both of whom play forward. The Pittsburgh Penguins are a team that needs firepower and consistency from its forwards, as well as more scoring power to build the team's offense. We take you through a fantasy trade scenario if it were to occur between the two clubs.

If the Vancouver Canucks management attempts to trade forward J.T. Miller, it would indeed compose of a big package coming back to the Canucks. The Penguins have some forwards and top-four defensemen in the lineup, which would complement a trade between the two clubs.

A defenseman like Marcus Pettersson would be a good option; however, why not go deeper and pursue the likes of a defenseman with the scoring ability of a forward that needs a fresh start with a team that he is pretty familiar with?

Eric Karlsson

Karlsson would be a great addition to the Vancouver Canucks lineup as a complement to Nuck's captain Quin Hughes. The team would be gifted with a defensive presence who knows how to score from the point, making it miserable for opposing teams.

His skill set and I.Q. are essential skills all teams need, and he knows where to put the puck on the ice. Eric Karlsson is a well-defined goal-scoring defenseman who would become a crucial figure for the Canucks' team and fans.

It would bring the upbringing of a team with plenty of depth when it comes to playing hockey. Toughness is brought on by size and speed and is attached to a combination of skills. The team has plenty of grit, which is how they mustered out the wins against the teams they've played this year.

Like last year, Vancouver would be a dominant team and chase for the Stanley Cup. However, bringing in Eric Karlsson would mean opting for bringing in available forwards to fill the space left by Miller.

J.T. Miller in the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup

Miller-Time in Pittsburgh would mean scoring power at its capacity, somewhat similar to the Edmonton Oilers roster. The Pens would be full of depth and firepower at all angles and give them that final push for a Stanley Cup. Sidney Crosby hopes to achieve this feat before he retires, alongside forward Evangi Malkin and defenseman Kris Letang.

Miller's contract would be intact, and he could be a new generational leader in the locker room, competing for the captaincy when Sid the Kid retires. His attitude towards scoring and playing the game is commendable, and he knows how to make plays with his teammates. Playing on the top two lines would give him the flexibility to play the game his way, with the chemistry of his linemates.

The benefit of this trade for both teams would bolster up both sides of the ice, and give them plenty of options going forward.
