Las Vegas Aviators giving away Golden Knights themed baseball jerseys

The Las Vegas Aviators are the minor league affiliation of MLB's Oakland A's. The giveaway jersey features colors from the Golden Knights as well as both team's logos.

The other day, we mentioned how football season starting means that hockey season is just around the corner. Another sign the NHL is getting ready for another season is baseball entering the final stretch of their seasons. MLB’s regular season ends the final weekend in September with various minor leagues getting ready to wind down theirs.

One of those minor league teams is the Las Vegas Aviators, the AAA (the highest level of minor league baseball and basically their “AHL”) affiliate of the Oakland A’s. The Aviators are paying tribute to the city’s NHL team, the Golden Knights, with a giveaway on their September 18th game. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Golden Knights and Aviators crossover baseball jersey.

Gone from these jerseys is the Aviators normal color scheme of navy blue and orange. Instead, the jersey takes the Golden Knights colors of black and gold. The word mark spells out “Golden Knights” in script across the front of the jersey in black surround by a gold and white border. The font used for “Golden Knights” doesn’t appear to be one normally used by the Golden Knights or Aviators. Below the word mark to the right is a miniature version of the Golden Knights main “shield” logo.

Golden piping goes around the color and down the buttons. On the left hand sleeve is a patch of the Aviators logo, an aviator pilot in a “Top Gun” like flight mask, in the same black and gold matching color scheme. On the back of the jersey is “25”, for the 2025 season, in the same font and border colors as “Golden Knights” on the front.

The gold on the jerseys appears to be the more muted, almost mustard yellow, gold originally seen on the Golden Knights inaugural grey jerseys and not the more “flashy” gold seen on their current jerseys. Red, which has been featured as an arm stripe color on every Vegas jersey with the exception of their 2024 Winter Classic jerseys, is notably absent.

Vegas loves the Golden Knights in a way few cities embrace their teams. It’s not because of the teams near instant success as much as the fact that after wanting a team, any team, in major professional sports for years the NHL finally gave Vegas residents what they always wanted and the city has shown their love. In a few years they’ll be joined by MLB’s A’s so this is a nice crossover that’s sure to become a hot item for the city’s fans to wear to games. Don’t forget Vegas might be a “hockey town”, but by no means do they have “hockey weather” so that’s where this sport sleeves baseball jersey will come in handy.

The Aviators are guaranteeing a jersey to anyone who purchases tickets using this specific link. Since we won’t be in Vegas we guess we’ll just have to wait for one to hit eBay. They’ll look great on our next trip to Caesars Palace. Speaking of unique Vegas themed hockey jerseys, take a look at UNLV’s club hockey team’s casino inspired jerseys from last season.
