Round 2 is officially underway as eight teams have been eliminated and eight look to continue their journey to win the Cup. Let’s take a look at where we stand now and how many wins each team that is left in contention is away from getting Lord Stanley.

Dallas Stars: The Stars need 12 wins for the Cup, they beat the Avalanche 4-3 in the first round and will now take on the Jets for round two.
Edmonton Oilers: The Oilers are 11 wins away from the Cup, they beat the Kings 4-2 in round one and will now face the Knights for Round 2.
Florida Panthers: The Panthers are 12 wins away from trying to become back-to-back Stanley Cup champions. They beat the Lightning 4-1 in round one and now are down 1-0 in Round 2 against the Leafs after a 5-4 loss in game one.
Toronto Maple Leafs: The Leafs are 11 wins away from the Cup, they are the closest of any team right now after beating the Senators 4-2 in round one and now are up 1-0 in round two against the Panthers.
Vegas Golden Knights: The Knights are 12 wins away from Lord Stanley’s Cup, after making a successful comeback to beat the Wild 4-2 in round one, they will now take on the Oilers for Round 2.
Washington Capitals: The Capitals need 12 wins to get the Cup, they beat the Canadiens 4-1 in round one and now are against the Hurricanes for Round 2.
Winnipeg Jets: The Jets are 12 wins away from the Stanley Cup, after a massive comeback in the final seconds of game 7, they successfully beat the Blues in 7 games during round one to move on and face the Stars for round 2.
