The New Jersey Devils may or may not trade Tyler Toffoli.

The New Jersey Devils are looking like they might be sellers at this deadline. That would be a shock at the beginning of the season but it is the reality of the situation.

They are still in a very nice position going forward as long as they can figure out their long-term coaching situation in addition to their long-term goaltending situation.

One player that could be on his way out, however, is Tyler Toffoli. He is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and teams want him.

High-end scoring forwards have been going for a lot this year and New Jersey might be wise to take advantage. This is a lost season but it doesn't have to all be for not.

Right now, Toffoli has 26 goals and 18 assists for 44 points in 61 games. It isn't like he is this big-time playmaker but he has the ability to score lots of goals in bunches. Many teams would want that.

If New Jersey did trade Toffoli, these are the three teams that would be most interested:

Seeing Tyler Toffoli on the Vegas Golden Knights would make a lot of sense

The Vegas Golden Knights have to be mentioned with anyone on the trade block these days. That team is literally in on everyone.

Vegas traded for Calgary Flames defenseman Noah Hanifin on Wednesday night but left themselves a few first round picks to work with. Now, if they wanted to add a forward that can score goals, they have the assets needed to do so.

No team is obsessed with winning more than the Golden Knights and they've proven it. With Mark Stone on LTIR, they can afford one more player with salary retained. If they strike out on Jake Guentzel, they could come calling for Toffoli.

Tyler Toffoli returning to the Los Angeles Kings would be something special

Everybody remembers "That 70's Line" that Tyler Toffoli used to be a part of with the Los Angeles Kings. Although Jeff Carter and Tanner Pearson are not with the Kings anymore, Toffoli would still fit in with this modern-day Kings team.

They look like a dangerous playoff team now that they are back on track after firing their coach. With veteran leaders like Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty still there, they have plenty of other young talent leading the way as well.

Toffoli is the type of player who could jump in on any line there. He was a great fit in New Jersey on a few different lines, which would be no different in Los Angeles.

It would also be poetic to see him again in a Kings sweater. There is always something special about winning a Stanley Cup with a certain team and Toffoli has those memories with the 2014 Kings. Out of all the possible teams in on him, a reunion in Los Angeles feels like it is the most likely.

The Vancouver Canucks are also a team that could trade for their former player

The Los Angeles Kings are not the only team that could try to get Toffoli back after having him in the past.

He played in 10 games with the Vancouver Canucks during the 2019-20 season but the COVID-19 pandemic ended that year early. He played in the bubble with them but it didn't mount too much.

Now, a second go-around with them would be very interesting. If they strike out on Jake Guentzel who seems to be their top priority, Toffoli isn't a bad consolation. He'd fit right in on that stacked Vancouver team.

With star forwards like Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, and Brock Boeser having amazing years in their own right, Toffoli would join that mix and be great.

He'd go from playing with Jack Hughes and Luke Hughes to Quinn Hughes if a deal like this went down too which is very fun.

Toffoli would instantly be on a Cup-contending team which is good for him in his career. Vancouver would probably see this as a pure rental but it may be worth it to chase that Cup.
