The Chicago Blackhawks are finally winners of a road game. They defeated the Arizona Coyotes at Mullett Arena for their first away win since November 9th, 2023. This victory ended a 22-game road losing streak.

It is hard to lose that many road games in a row but this Chicago team is very bad. It’s not like they win a lot at home either. This game wasn’t easy for them either.

The Hawks needed a goal explosion to bear Arizona and it happened in the 5-2 win. They scored four power play goals which went a long way in them winning.

The offense was pretty spread out but the top power play guys got it done. Connor Bedard, Nico Foligno, and Jason Dickinson all had two points. Tyler Johnson had a monster game with three (all assists).

On the back end, Seth Jones had two points as he put the puck in the net twice. Alex Vlasic and Kevin Korchinski each had an assist as well and their good rookie campaigns continue.

In the net, Arvid Soderblom finally won a game. This was his 5th career victory and the 4th came back in November. He was brilliant as he made 37 saves for a .949 save percentage.

The Hawks got two points and they still managed to stay in 32nd place which is important in the draft lottery rankings. They needed to end a couple of these bad streaks though for the morale of the organization.

Now, they have a few days off before heading east. They are going to take on the Washington Capitals on Saturday night in the nation’s capital. That is the first half of a back-to-back as they’ll play these Coyotes again at the United Center on Sunday.

The rest of the season is about seeing the young guys play well while continuing to put themselves in a good draft position. There are still plenty of reasons to keep an eye on this team.
