The Nashville Predators came out on fire against the Ottawa Senators on Monday night. This was the only game on the NHL schedule and it was exciting for anyone that watched it.

The Nashville Predators, a team in a battle for the postseason, took a 3-0 lead in the first period. It looked like they were going to run away with a victory against a lottery-bound Senators squad.

In the second period, however, the Sens looked like a completely different team. Drake Batherson, Tim Stutzle, and Brady Tkachuk all scored to even up the game.

Nobody scored in the third period so they found themselves in overtime. To complete the comeback, Stutzle made a great play with Claude Giroux who buried the overtime game-winner. His 15th goal of the season was just what the doctor ordered for Ottawa.

The Senators are having a very tough season. For that reason, it looked like they might fold after being down 3-0. Things were different on this night.

This might not be an organization going to the playoffs as they are 19-25-2 which is worth 40 points (28th in the NHL). With that said, this could be the type of win that brings them together as a team. Coming back from down three to win in overtime will certainly get the juices going.

It is a bit sad that this year has gone the way it has for them. There are a lot of very exciting players on this roster as you saw on display vs Nashville. Hockey will be a better place when they are finally back to competing for the playoffs.

Most teams are now done ahead of the All-Star break but the Senators have another one to play. They will go against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday night.

This rivalry was budding in the early stages of the season but the two teams have gone in completely different directions. It would still be cool for Ottawa to show up big in this one. You know the players on both sides will come ready to play.
