Red Wings News: Patrick Kane will make his season debut on Thursday
Detroit is getting ready for the Patrick Kane era to begin.
The Detroit Red Wings are off to an impressive start this season. They came in with mixed expectations but they have exceeded them all. Right now, they are in a top three spot of the Atlantic Division with a record of 14-7-3.
Patrick Kane was signed last week to help them with their offense. After recovering from hip surgery, it isn’t certain that he will be the same player that he once was. He seems to think that he will be which is encouraging.
When he first signed, the speculation started as to when he would make his season debut. We finally have that answer as Kane will suit up on Thursday night against the San Jose Sharks.
The Little Caesars Arena is certainly going to be buzzing with anticipation as Kane will resume his Hall of Fame career. He was once a most feared rival but now he is on their side. It should be an electric television show.

Kane’s nickname has always been “Showtime” and it is a very fitting one. He has put on a show a lot in his career and he wants that to continue for the rest of the year in Detroit.
Kane is only on a one-year deal so he has to prove that he is still productive enough of a player to get a long-term contract for next year and beyond. He is going to be motivated for that reason amongst many other reasons.
The last 12 months have been crazy for Kane. He had the aforementioned surgery, searched for a new team, and will now play for his third squad during that span.
Seeing Kane play with former linemate Alex DeBrincat should be a lot of fun for Chicago Blackhawks fans but it may be frustrating as well. Their chemistry on their former team was incredible so it will be interesting to see if they can find that magic again.
Red Wings fans will certainly enjoy seeing what Kane brings to their forward group regardless of who is on his line. The experience that Kane brings is not coachable.
The Sharks are one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to record but they have played well lately. We'll see how Kane and the Wings fare against a team like that.
