Their last captain was Kyle Okposo, who was traded during the 2022-23 season to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. An up-and-coming team with a lot of promise, the Sabres should have no issues deciding who their captain will be as there are candidates who are well suited to lead this team.

Dahlin is capable of putting this team on his back and leading them to a playoff spot, something most young players would not be able to do. Wise beyond his years, he si already playing like a Norris Trophy winnner with his steady play.
