The Detroit Red Wings announced their 2024 NHL Prospects Games roster and a complete schedule, for the two-day event.

The event is to take place on Saturday, September 14, and Sunday, September 15 at the Centre ICE Arena in Traverse City, Michigan.

The roster consists of 24 recent draft picks, free agent signees, and tryouts who will battle against prospects from the Dallas Stars.

Young Red Wings will look to impress in the 2024 Prospect Games

Noticeable players include Nate Danielson (ninth overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft) and Michael Brandsegg-Nygard (15th pick in the 2024 NHL Draft). Danielson made his pro debut last season with the Red Wings American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.

He went scoreless in two Calder Cup playoff games. Brandsegg-Nygard scored five goals and seven assists for 12 points, and 10 penalty minutes, in seven games for Mora IK's U-20 team in Sweden's top league.

Seven of the 24 players on the roster are former Red Wings draft picks, a pair of first-round picks in addition to one second-round pick, one third-round pick, one fourth-round pick, and two seventh-round picks. Below is the prospect roster:

Goaltenders

31 Carter Gylander 61 Landon MIller 68 Gage Alexander

A couple of players to look out for include center Ondrej Becher, who was drafted by Detroit 80th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft.

He dominated the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Prince George Cougars, racking up 96 points on 32 goals and 64 assists, plus 48 penalty minutes in 58 games. In 15 playoff games, he registered five goals and 14 assists for 19 points.

Defenseman Shai Buium was drafted by the Red Wings in 2021 with the 36th overall pick and he has had success in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA).

Last season for the University of Denver, he posted seven goals and 29 assists for 36 points, 14 penalty minutes, and was a +33 in 43 games. he would also play a big role in the University capturing its second NCAA Division 1 National Championship in three seasons.

The Red Wings pipeline is loaded with talent that will hopefully be with the main roster at some point during their careers. This showcase is massive in their development and in pursuing that NHL dream.

Some may falter along the way, however, most have that dream of stepping onto NHL ice and making a difference. They are one step closer to living that dream and a massive showing could propel that dream into bigger things this season.
