The Chicago Blackhawks 2024-25 regular season schedule was announced on July 2 along with every other NHL team in the league.
Each summer, the schedule announcement is a big day for Blackhawks fans. This is the time to get your calendar out and circle the top matchups you want to get to for the 2024-25 NHL season.
With the schedule announcement, the Blackhawks also announced their preseason schedule. The preseason will give Blackhawks fans their best look at some of the team's top prospects this season, especially with more talent in the top of the lineup keeping them out of the NHL this season.

For the Blackhawks, a number of key dates come to mind to get excited about for next season. There is obviously another return for Patrick Kane to Chicago to get excited about, a winter classic and the introduction of a new NHL team. 5. Patrick Kane returns to Chicago. (Nov. 6)
First and foremost, Patrick Kane will always be remembered as one of the best Blackhawks of all time. Any opportunity Blackhawks fans have to watch him play in the Windy City is going to be an exciting game for fans. While it might not be the same level as excitement as Kane's first return to Chicago, it will still definitely be well attended.
4. The defending Stanley Cup Champs come to town. (Nov. 21)
On November 21 the Florida Panthers will face off against the Chicago Blackhawks. This will be a big measuring stick game for the Hawks. While the team might not be anywhere near contending, any opportunity to play the defending champs is a big opportunity.
Both players and fans watched Florida will their way to a championship through four rounds of the postseason, and now the Blackhawks can see where they stack up.
3. The Blackhawks host Macklin Celebrini and the San Jose Sharks (Oct. 17)
The home opener is always an exciting game. For one, it is an opportunity to get to see the new players on the roster. But more importantly, it is an opportunity to set the tone for what the new season is going to be. First impressions are important and that is also the case for the Blackhawks first matchup against the number one overall pick of the 2024 NHL Draft, Macklin Celebrini.
Macklin Celebrini was almost a Chicago Blackhawk, if the ping pong balls fell just a little bit differently, Bedard-Celebrini would have been a heck of a one two punch to watch in the NHL for years to come.
Here we are heading into a new season and on October 17 Blackhawks fans will have the opportunity to see the two young stars face off when San Jose comes to town. Celebrini and Bedard could have a good rivalry for years to come and there first matchup comes with the Blackhawks home opener.
2. The Blackhawks head to Utah for the first game against the new club. (Oct. 8)
The Blackhawks are one of three games kicking off the 2024-25 NHL season on October 8. This one is bound to be exciting as the Hawks become the first team to play against the Utah Hockey Club.
The Hawks have often played in some big games to start the season, but the opportunity to play in Utah has to be special. This will be an exciting introduction for a matchup that could very well be a fun rivalry to watch for years to come with both teams having bright futures.
1. The Blackhawks take on the St. Louis Blues in the Winter Classic. (Dec. 31)
Nothing will beat the excitement for the top game on the list. The Blackhawks are heading back to Wrigley Field for the Winter Classic on New Years Eve. The Blackhawks have a roster that could very well comepete against the St. Louis Blues.
While the Hawks might have an underwhelming record in outdoor games up to this point, this is the first in Connor Bedard's era. The Blackhawks have a lot of young players who should be excited heading into this matchup.
