The Boston Bruins are one of the best teams in the NHL right now. At 20-7-6, they have 46 standings points which is good enough for first place in the Atlantic Division.

The New York Rangers are the only Eastern Conference team ahead of them in the overall league standings right now too.

Boston's good start comes the season after Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci retired. Their center depth has taken a major hit but they have found a way to get through it up to this point.

Right now, however, they are 4-3-3 in their last ten games. They haven't been awful but they need to get back to their dominant ways.

Tyler Johnson would be an incredible addition to the Boston Bruins.

If they were to do that, adding another good center to play with some of their incredible wings might be needed.

One player that might be available to them is Tyler Johnson of the Chicago Blackhawks. He 33 years old and a UFA after this season is over. The Hawks could also afford to retain on his contract if needed by the Bruins.

Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now confirmed that Johnson will be available at the deadline. That would be very smart for the Hawks as they continue their rebuild.

The Bruins would look very smart if they made a move like this. He brings some offensive flare to his game while always being responsible.

Bruins fans might remember him from his days with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He has been in the Stanley Cup Final three times and that includes two Stanley Cup wins. Over his career, he has 183 goals and 228 assists for 411 points in 704 games.

He never became a superstar offensive producer but he is a solid depth piece on any team. So far this season with the Hawks, he has seven goals and four assists for 11 points.

With the Bruins, he'd probably see an uptick in scoring because of the players he'd be around. It would be fun to see a move like this be made as they could make a deep run if all goes well for them.

Johnson has the experience of doing that. He also probably wants to make another deep run after being on a bad Blackhawks team for a while now. He is also looking for another contract in the NHL and being traded to a good team would help him there too.
