Once off to the best start in the NHL, the Winnipeg Jets have come back down to earth.

The Winnipeg Jets started off the NHL season on a historically good high note. They were 15-1-0 through their first 16 games and looked unbeatable. That pace has inevitably come to an end, as the Jets have faltered the last few weeks. They had a four-game losing streak from November 27th through December 3rd.

Naturally, a hot streak like that was never going to last. The Jets are still first place in their division and have one of the deepest rosters in the league. Despite this slide, they're still one of the top teams in the NHL.

Despite this, let's talk about their recent four game losing streak and analyze what they can take from it.

The Jets offense went cold

In three of the four games during the losing streak, the Jets only scored one goal. Three of the four games were also against some great teams, minus St. Louis. This usually wouldn't be notable for a team who went 15-1-0 in their first 16 games, but there's something about Winnipeg's early schedule that stands out.

The Jets played some good teams in their first 15 games. But there was a middling to bad team sprinkled right in there. They proved they are a great team, but this recent four-game losing streak was the first time they faced top teams for an extended stretch of time.

The Jets have the depth, and there's no reason to be worried. Their depth is underrated, particularly in the forward group. Personally, my favorite depth player on the Jets is Neil Pionk. Pionk has an awesome name first of all, like how much fun is it to say Pionk?

Pionk plays a very selfless game. He's a +9 this season for Winnipeg on the ice and has four goals, 18 assists and 22 points. There are many more players like this on the Jets. No Winnipeg fans should be worried, especially since the team has won two games in a row.
