NHL Daily Morning Rant
How about those Columbus Blue Jackets? After a miserable 2015-16, it seems they’re starting to bounce back. Now 5-3-1, CLB sits tied for a Wild-Card spot. The scary thing is, this could be a playoff team come April.
They’ve got Nick Foligno back on a roll after watching his totals more than cut in half last season. Sergei Bobrovsky continues his strong play from the World Cup of Hockey, which could force his name into the Vezina Trophy conversation. Then, we’ve got rookie defenseman Zach Werenski. He had two assists versus Montreal and now has 10 points in nine games, placing him squarely among rookie leaders in scoring. If anyone can challenge Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Patrik Laine for Calder consideration, it’s definitely this young man.
