When I say the best of Ilya Bryzgalov I’m not talking about his time on the ice. I’m talking about his off-ice antics. He is by far the most entertaining interview to watch in the NHL. Love or hate his Russian antics here are some of my favourite Bryz moments.
1. Bryz on Goalies and Defensmen
There were lots of hilarious Bryz moments in the Flyers Rangers HBO special. Here is one where he shares his thoughts on being a goalie and crazy defensemen.
2. The infamous “Why you heff to be mad?”
This is by far one of Bryz’s most famous quotes. It really needs no introduction. There is also a sense of irony in what he says about Edmonton now that he will be playing there.
3. Bryz isn’t afraid
Bryz is not afraid of Penguins. He is only afraid of bears.
4. Bryz explains the universe
The most famous quote from the HBO special. It really shows how thoughtful and insightful Ilya can be.
5. Bryz on Tigers and Chinese Law
In this clip Ilya teaches us about Chinese Law concerning tigers. No I am not kidding.
6. Bryz loves dogs
Bryz really loves animals and he has an interesting theory about Huskies.

One thing is for certain, this season has not been nearly as entertaining without Bryzagalov interviews. I for one am glad he’s back. In all seriousness he wasn’t that bad a goalie and I think between he and Devan Dubnyk Edmonton is in a decent place right now.
