11 years after Gordie Howe stormed the NHL, a new elite hockey prospect made teams salivating. Hull, whose idol was Howe as a kid, was an imposing bulky forward with St. Catherines in the Ontario Hockey Association.

His impressive play against fellow junior players saw him get called up by the Chicago Black Hawks while still in high school to play an exhibition game against the New York Islanders. The future hall of famer scored two goals in that game and became a force to be reckon with for the rest of his career.
