The 19-year-old was a third round pick in 2013 and was expected to return to the QMJHL this year if it wasn’t for his amazing preseason. Although he did score 50 goals in 59 games in juniors last year, he was still a huge longshot to make the roster of the Stanley Cup runner-ups, the New York Rangers. However, Duclair will have to keep fighting to keep his spot on the team, because the Rangers may want to send him back to Quebec in a couple weeks if they do not want a full year of his salary to be used.

He will be on the third line with 21-year-old J.T. Miller and veteran Lee Stempniak.
