NHL Pacific Division #6 Vancouver Canucks

It was a very close call, but the average consensus put the Vancouver Canucks at 6th in the NHL Pacific Division. Last offseason, the Canucks appeared to be set for a massive rebuild, but a quick retooling got them back into 2nd place. Our staff at Too Many Men on the Site do not buy this going forward.

"“Being extraterrestrial life forms, I am not sure what the Sedin lifecycle is. At 35 years this September, I think it is only a matter of time for the wheels to fall off for the twins. Expect a second rebuilding process soon.” – Jason Feddema, Staff Writer"

Considering that most of their key players are well into their 30’s, it appears that it could be a bumpy ride while transitioning to a younger team. To name a few, Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin will be 35 this September, Radim Vrbata is 34, Alexandre Burrows is 34 and Ryan Miller is 35. It really makes you wonder when the wheels will fall off!

"“The Canucks have made questionable moves, i.e. trading away Eddie Lack. The Sedin twins led the team in points last season, but the team had only one skater to pot over 20 goals, that being Radim Vrabata. One injury to a key veteran, and this team could be in deep water.” – Martin Strachan, Staff Writer"

The Canucks management has been good and bad at times, but ultimately they have led the team into a tough position. It seems pretty clear that this team is too soft to make it far into the playoffs and with the aging talent, a major rebuild is imminent. Unfortunately, trading the Sedin twins would be complicated, so we do not see an easy rebuilding process on the horizon.

"“The Vancouver Canucks are the 22-year-old that got drunk, turned on their X-Box and tried making a super team when all they had to do was pick the Chicago Blackhawks.  There is no direction here and I feel bad for the Sedin’s.” – Adam Savard, Staff Writer"
