Goaltending

Grubauer was handed his second start of the year after posting his first career shutout back on Oct.18. He stopped 23 of 25 shots for a road win in Vancouver on Saturday. Philipp has two wins in two starts with a 1.00GAA and .953 save percentage.

Holtby started both games on Sunday and Tuesday on the road. He got a win stopping 21 of 22 shots vs. Calgary and collected another victory versus Winnipeg after allowing just two goals on 45 shots. Braden is now 4-2-0 with a 2.13GAA and .925 save percentage in the early season.

Defense

Karl Alzner was the top defenseman over the past seven days for Washington. He logged north of 20 minutes/night in all three games and scored a goal in two of three contests. On a bit of a side note, Alzner, Carlson, and Niskanen were each a +2 plus/minus rating over the last seven days.

Forwards

Forward Marcus Johansson had a monster three games this past week collecting seven points over that span. He stood out on the Western Canada road trip posting two goals, one assist in Vancouver, two goals in Calgary, and a goal and an assist in Winnipeg on Tuesday. Marcus now has 11 points in 9 games.

Among the other notable performers in the last week: Jay Beagle had three points after tallying a pair of helpers in Calgary and scoring a goal in Winnipeg. Evgeny Kuznetsov also had three points as he collected an assist vs. Vancouver and two more in Winnipeg on Tuesday night.
