The Columbus Blue Jackets Finished Last in the Metropolitan Division Last Season. This Season the Blue Jackets Are Ready to Win and Currently Sit At Third in the Metropolitan Divison. Now, Columbus Is Ready to Turn Their Luck Around.
The Columbus Blue Jackets finished last season in the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. Columbus only won 34 games last season and any hope of getting somewhat close to the playoffs was out of the question.
The Blue Jackets struggled to keep their play consistent and confident. Their play went back and forth but always bordered on weak and things were not clicking for the team desperate for some good luck.
This season things are different and the Blue Jackets are ready to compete. The team is currently third in the Metropolitan Division, just one point behind the New York Rangers who hold second but are tied with the Pittsburgh Penguins for first (in terms of points).
Columbus is ready to play this season and they want to win.
Offense Rising
The Blue Jackets are seven games deep in a winning streak right now. Columbus’ offense is producing and they know how to grab the wins they need.
Producers like Sam Gagner, Cam Atkinson, Nick Foligno and Brandon Saad have been big offensive threats for the Blue Jackets.
Gagner is excelling in his first season with Columbus and currently leads the team with 12 goals. Atkinson follows closely behind with 11 goals and is performing well for the Blue Jackets, as he always has. If Atkinson keeps up his pace he has the potential to match and potentially beat his career-high 27 goals and 26 assists he racked up last season.
Foligno is having an incredible season for Columbus. The forward already has 10 goals and 12 assists in 25 games compared to the 12 goals and 25 assists he notched in 72 games last season. Foligno is on the road to passing his stats from last season and has a better chance of getting close to the 73 point season he had in 2014-15.
Saad has also been a standout player since joining the team last season. Last season, Saad’s first with the Blue Jackets, he notched 31 goals and 22 assists. This year the 24-year-old is ready to keep up his production, which only grows each season.
The boost in offense and newfound team system has had an incredible impact on the Columbus Blue Jackets. The team is ready to take this season to new heights.

The Columbus Blue Jackets ended last season in dead last but this season tells a different story. The Jackets are currently in third and are dangerously close to grabbing the front of the Metropolitan Division.
Columbus has finally found their system and it is a winning one. The boost in offense combined with overall better play under coach John Tortorella has had a winning impact on the team.
Goaltending from Sergei Bobrovsky has also been incredible so far this season. Bobrovsky currently has 17 wins of 24 games player with a goals-against average of 1.94 and a save percentage of .934.
Players like Saad and Gagner will continue to produce at the high level they have already, thus pushing the team into an even better offensive setting. Reliable offense, steady defense and solid goaltending can bring a team where they want to be and the Blue Jackets are taking advantage of it.
