4. Saku Koivu

Saku Koivu signed up with the Anaheim Ducks in 2009 after spending his entire career with the Montreal Canadiens. Koivu elected to come to the Ducks after they had won their Cup, but much of that Cup core – Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf, Francois Beauchemin, etc. – were still around.

Koivu helped the Ducks get to the second round in 2014 during the period that was dominated entirely by the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks. But his impact was felt mostly outside of the playoffs, helping the Ducks make them repeatedly instead.

While Koivu’s production dropped off, he started off his tenure with the Ducks with 52 points and 19 goals, followed it with 45 and 15 and 38 and 11. He became a useful depth center for the Anaheim Ducks, somebody who could score with limited minutes. Koivu was an excellent defensive center, often taking on tough minutes and zone starts.

Once Koivu became a Duck, he retired a Duck. That’s something relatively rare on this list. Koivu is perhaps most famous for his time with the Montreal Canadiens. In 332 games with the Ducks, he put up 64 goals and 191 points. Koivu spent 792 games with the Canadiens, scoring 191 goals and 641 points in the process.
