After the Columbus Blue Jackets’ first second-round appearance in franchise history, it seems like star goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is on the move.

The Columbus Blue Jackets had the most successful season in their 18-year existence. At the Trade Deadline, general manager Jarmo Kekalainen made some massive moves to bring in a plethora of new players, including Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel.

With the help of their new stars, they reached the second round of the NHL playoffs for the first time ever. They ended up losing to the Boston Bruins in six games, but it was quite the season for the Blue Jackets.

Now the dust has settled, there are many questions surrounding this team. They have six players who will be entering free agency and it is uncertain where everyone will go. One of the biggest pieces in question is their star goaltender and two-time Vezina winner, Sergei Bobrovsky.

Well, if anyone was hoping that he would stay, it doesn’t seem to be the case.

Today, Bobrovsky’s condo in Columbus was put up for sale so it seems like he is on the move. Bobrovsky has made it public for a long time that he wants a max contract, very similar to Carey Prices‘ $10 million deal.

While his regular season performance was not his best (it was his worst season since 2015-16), he was dominant in the playoffs, with a .924 save percentage in 10 games. We have seen time and time again players getting overpaid due to their playoff performances and Bobrovsky’s rebound in the playoffs just earned him a lot of money.

Rumors have been swirling around with him potentially going to Florida with teammate Artemi Panarin. According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, the Panthers wanted to trade for Bobrovsky at the Trade Deadline with the promise of an eight-year deal.

The deal didn’t go through because Kekalainen decided to go for a long playoff run, but that doesn’t mean that the Panthers don’t want Bobrovsky anymore. Could Florida be where he buys his new condo?
