From drafting young talent and acquiring developed players, the 2019-2020 season looks to be a promising one.

Here are five key players that will help lead the Devils to victory for the upcoming season.

1. P.K. Subban

More from Puck Prose

From the start of his career, P.K. Subban has been an incredible defenseman in the NHL. He first started his career with the Canadiens, the Predators, and now the Devils.

His profound skating, notorious slapshot, and ability to hit players have separated him from the rest. The Devils are lucky to have him to support on Defense as he will certainly deliver.

Defense has been a struggling sector for the Devils in recent times, as this has hurt them in goals against. P.K. Subban has the skills and expertise necessary to help boost the defensive ability of the team.

Not only does Subban have the ability to make amazing passing plays to get numbers on the board, but he is also a shooter himself, tallying many goals over the years.

Subban also has amazing vision on the ice both offensively and defensively and is considered a well-rounded defenceman who rightfully earns that title. He also has a keen sense of leadership and this will be able to rub off on the rest of the team.

Working with other talented defensemen such as Andy Greene and Sami Vatanen will also be a plus. Acquiring Subban will undoubtedly be a huge reward for the New Jersey Devils.

Hall is a natural goal scorer and has some of the best hands in hockey. His ability to make plays is entertaining to watch and he surely knows how to work under pressure. 3. Cory Schneider

Cory Schneider had some success during his time with the Canucks as he played a good amount of games with them. He now has an opportunity to defend the net for the Devils as their starting goaltender.

With the help of Subban and Greene on defense, Schneider will certainly have less pressure to worry about between the net.

Schneider has a quick glove and possesses good vision when taking on shots. He also has experience in the league to showcase to the NHL that he is ready to lead the Devils. The key for the Devils will be to focus on keeping Schneider healthy as they do not have extensive backup goaltenders to rely on.

Hughes put up an incredible amount of points totaling to 112. He has incredible offensive awareness and has some of the best play-making ability potential the NHL has ever seen. This type of playing ability is exactly what the Devils need in order to have a successful season.
