#5 Sergei Bobrovsky

Some argue that Philadelphia’s trade of a future two-time Vezina winner in Sergei Bobrovsky to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a bag of pucks was the worst in their franchise’s history. I don’t see any argument; it’s clearly the worst.

The undrafted goaltender saw twenty other goalies get selected in his draft year of 2007. The only other remaining NHL goalie from that draft-year is Scott Darling of the Carolina Hurricanes. Hockey analyst and former NHLer Brian Boucher has this to say about Bobrovsky.

"“This guy (Bobrovsky) is so powerful in his legs, his flexibility is so good that he is able to get to pucks that other goaltenders simply cannot get to”"

After being signed by Florida this past offseason, the 2019-20 season is currently his worst statistical year. Regardless, the Russian is widely considered one of the best undrafted goaltenders of all time.
