4. Maxime Comtois

Like Mahura, Maxime Comtois has also played some games for the Ducks the past two seasons. In fact, he almost didn’t qualify for this list given that he only played in two more games in the AHL than the NHL this past season.

Nevertheless, he was able to make the list, and is a very key part of the Ducks future. The 21-year-old has been with the Ducks organization since he was selected with the 50th overall pick at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Comtois had a great three season junior career with the Victoriaville Tigres, and also represented Team Canada twice at the World Juniors (2018,2019), where he was the teams captain his second time around. In his first short stint as an NHLer during the 2018-19 season, he showed everyone his potential with seven points in 10 game

s. This season proved to be a bit more of a learning curve, as he was only able to put up 11 points in 29 games. However, in 31 games with the Gulls he had 24 points all while continuing to be the pest he is. He will likely make the Ducks out of training camp this season.

3. Jamie Drysdale

While it seems strange that the sixth overall pick from just over a week ago wouldn’t be in the top two spots on this list, it just goes to show how incredible some of the Ducks top prospects are. Jamie Drysdale was the first of the two picks the Ducks had in the first-round this year.

The Toronto, Ontario native put up nearly point per game numbers with the Eerie Otters of the OHL with nine goals and 47 points in 49 games, despite being just 17-years-old for the entire season.

He was also not only able to make Team Canada for this past years World Juniors, but played a big part in them taking home a gold medal with a goal and two assists along with a plus3 in seven games.

Getting a spot on the blueline as a player who is not yet draft eligible for Team Canada is not a common thing, and goes to show just how truly talented this kid is. The smooth skating defenceman will still need some time to put on size as he is just 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, but when he does, look out.
