109. . . . Carolina Hurricanes. 4. team

I love the makeup of this team, Sebastian Aho had a coming-out party in the Toronto bubble last summer. And it seems like all of their draft picks from Charlotte are coming home as solid NHL players for now. Their defense is solid and hopefully Dougie Hamilton can play a full season this year, although I’m a little iffy about their goal-tending, which is why I think they could get into the Playoffs and could be a wildcard team as well. In any case, and to quote Jonathan Bradshaw Layfield, they’re just fun to watch.

. New York Islanders. 3. team. 106. .

This is another team that I love in how they are built, they are a no frills, no thrills hockey club. They have no problem beating you in one-goal games, and this is a team that is built for long-run Playoff hockey. Brock Nelson and Josh Bailey had great postseasons last year, and the scoring depth on this team is ridiculous.

Their defense is pretty good too with a lot of guys coming up through the farm system, including Noah Dobson, Scott Mayfield and Adam Pelech, all of whom came from Bridgeport to Long Island.

If Semyon Varlamov can have another solid season, there is every reason that the New York Islanders can make it back to the Eastern Conference Finals and then some.
