The St. Louis Blues were on a mission tonight showing their experience and skill.

David Perron and Ryan O’Reilly scored all the goals on the night, and the leadership this group needs to win starts there at the top with two of their best players. Perron and O’Reilly were both with the team back in 2019 when they won their Stanley Cup and it looked like they were back in 2019 again tonight.

Sometimes it is easier to be the road team in the first game of the playoffs. It almost feels more like a regular game and the storyline often involves the ease of getting into the game when you are on the road playing spoiler. That was the case for St. Louis tonight.

The way the Blues played was textbook playoff hockey. Locking things down in their own end dumping the puck in and doing everything you can every shift was what this team did all night long, and it definitely eased the mind of the goalie in the net who also had a great outing.
