Five Chicago Blackhawks That The Team Should Re-Sign Right Now
By Jim Lynch
2. Dylan Strome
The next player on this list really doesn’t need much of an explanation. Dylan Strome was fourth in points this past year for the Hawks. Behind only Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat and Seth Jones. He was third on the team in goals and was someone the team used very sparingly all year long.
Despite the fact that he always seems to fall outside of the favor of his coach and the fact that he was scratched a few times this year, Strome rose above those challenges and was fourth in points for the team.
He can play with star players like Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane and he is a great placeholder for the team until Kirby Dach is ready to take on the top line spot. Strome is still young and is definitely someone this team can build on for years to come. The thing is the only way to see how things could potentially go from here is to bet on Strome to succeed.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the team offer him a 3.5 million dollar contract for three to four seasons. It would give him peace of mind that he knows where he is going to be playing and it would give the Hawks an option to use down the middle every night.
