Cole Caufield, in one’s opinion, is poised to break out this season, because of the upgrades made by the Montreal Canadiens management, and the addition of new head coach Martin St. Louis.

He is currently 21 years old, heading into his third NHL season. He has been a sharp player ever since joining the Canadiens’ roster during the 2020/2021 season.

Caufield played 10 regular season games in his first year, then another 20 after the team earned a spot in the playoffs, going deep into the Finals that year.

He ended up recording 4 goals and 8 assists, tallying up 12 points during that span in the 2021 playoffs, where he did in fact make an impact.

Cole Caufield’s career stats include 27 goals and 21 assists, tallying up to 48 points. He ranks at a minus -25, thus far, with the Canadiens.

The career stats may seem broad, but the outlook is promising for the future, given the amount of talent Caufield possesses.

Cole Caufield is playing in a system that is poised for him to break out.

After observing the young winger play, especially in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs, it was evident the young winger would be a break out star at some point in his career.

He also showed promising signs during his time in the farm league, where he performed incredibly well and produced diligently.

How will Cole Caufield break out this season?

According to the system that coach Martin St. Louis has put in place for this season, which has certainly shifted the confidence to help the young offensive-minded player evolve out of his shell and be that player on the ice.

Having experience from his fellow teammates at this point in his career has complimented his game and given him time to grow as a player.

That makes him the ideal candidate to be a successful hockey player this upcoming season, with a couple of new additions to the team, helping the young star along the way.

The coaching staff

Martin St. Louis is taking the helm for the first time in his career as a coach after a promising showing while assuming the role as the intern during the last half of this past season.

Not to mention that St. Louis was quite the intelligent hockey player at a winger role during his playing time in the NHL, with his brilliant gameplay skills and most importantly amazing speed on the ice.

This should give Cole Caufield the confidence to be more of a role player for the Canadiens and produce at an elite level.

He possesses the ability to score and make plays according to the system the coaching staff has already put in place from last year but with a more versatile effect this season.

Cole Caufield can be an ideal role model in the locker room.

Maturity will be an issue as well, where he can become that leader in the locker room at his age and help that system of young core prospects players ease into the game and fit in nicely.

With the general manager in play here, they have secured a top-notch forward selection, which really complimented the team’s first stage of the rebuild.

Caufield is amongst the stars of the team and mainly the core in the present, and his presence will be able to shape up the positivity in the dressing room for most.
