The first few days of hockey have been great around the NHL. With fans looking for NHL betting odds, we have you covered with every game from the Capitals and Maple Leafs to the Kings and Kraken.

On Wednesday the NHL had some great matchups, like the Ducks and Kraken going to overtime or the Oilers scoring five unanswered goals to beat the Canucks 5-3. Tonight’s matchups hopefully should live up to the hype.

NHL Betting Odds and Predictions: Who wins Capitals or Maple Leafs?

Ottawa Senators vs Buffalo Sabres

Spread: -1.5 (OTT)
Moneyline: OTT -115 BUF -104
Total: Over/Under 6.5

I think this will be a great matchup where the Senators come out on top. This is going to be the first time we see Alex DeBrinct and Claude Giroux in a Senators jersey, and I think the Sens will come away with a win.

New Jersey Devils vs Philadelphia Flyers

Spread: -1.5 (NJD)
Moneyline: NJD -134 PHI +112
Total: Over/Under 6

The right team is favored in this matchup. The Devils improved this offseason and are bringing back some young stars like Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt. In their first game of the season, I have a hard time betting against the Devils even if John Tortorella is on the other side.

Arizona Coyotes vs Pittsburgh Penguins

Spread: -2.5 (PIT)
Moneyline: PIT -420 ARI +320
Total: Over/Under 6.5

The Pittsburgh Penguins are favored and for good reason. The Arizona Coyotes are one of the rebuilding teams tanking for a good draft pick this summer. Considering how crazy the moneyline odds are in favor of the Pens, I probably would avoid this game.

Florida Panthers vs New York Islanders

Spread: -1.5 (FLA)
Moneyline: FLA -140 NYI +116
Total: Over/Under 6

The Panthers and Islanders start their regular season in New York. With the Panthers favored, I think I would stick with the under with two teams that typically play well defensively. I cannot wait to see Matthew Tkachuk on his new team.

Washington Capitals vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Spread: -1.5 (TOR)
Moneyline: TOR -210 WAS +172
Total: Over/Under 7

The Maple Leafs will play their home opener tonight against the Capitals, with both teams looking for their first win. It is just my opinion, but I would take the Capitals in this one. While common sense says the Maple Leafs win at home, I think the Capitals could get things done.

New York Rangers vs Minnesota Wild

Spread: -1.5 (MIN)
Moneyline: MIN -138 NYR +115
Total: Over/Under 5.5

Didn’t the Rangers just beat the Tampa Bay Lightning? The Wild being favored seems a bit odd, especially considering how good the Rangers were in their first game. With a day off coming off their first win, I think the Rangers start the year 2-0-0.

Dallas Stars vs Nashville Predators

Spread: -1.5 (NSH)
Moneyline: NSH -134 DAL +114
Total: Over/Under 6.5

This is a pretty high over under for two teams with stellar goaltenders. With Jake Oettinger and Juuse Saros in net, I would take the under for this game.

Colorado Avalanche vs Calgary Flames

Spread: -1.5 (CGY)
Moneyline: CGY -130 COL +108
Total: Over/Under 6.5

Similar to the Rangers. The Avalanche just won their first game of the season 4-1. I know this is a home opener for the Flames, but with so much uncertainty involving the new players on the roster, I would take the Avs in this one.

Chicago Blackhawks vs Vegas Golden Knights

Spread: -1.5 (VGK)
Moneyline: VGk -375 CHI +290
Total: Over/Under 6.5

I mean, similar to the Arizona Coyotes, it will be hard to bet on the Blackhawks this season. Vegas looked great in their first matchup against the Los Angeles Kings. Taking them with the spread would be my plan tonight.

Seattle Kraken vs Los Angeles Kings

Spread: -1.5 (LAK)
Moneyline: LAK -184 SEA +152
Total: Over/Under 6

Finally, we have the Kings and Kraken. This is a tough game considering the Kraken just took the Ducks to overtime. I think I would take the over here with how high scoring the first game was for both teams.
