Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin had an incredible night for Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been lucky to have Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin for all these years. These guys have been a treat to watch for over a decade and they are still finding ways to be some of the most incredible players in the world.

Things didn’t go all too well for them in Tuesday’s first game of the season when they took on Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks. Crosby helped them get out to a 2-0 lead but they allowed the Hawks to score 4 unanswered and win. They needed a big bounceback in their next game.

They had their next chance on Friday night against the Washington Capitals. It was a game in which these two teams renewed their rivalry once again. The stars in this matchup, Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin, and Niklas Backstrom have become synonymous with this matchup and it has been incredible to watch.

On Friday night, Crosby and Malkin got the better of the Capitals as they had an incredible game in a 4-0 victory. In the win, Crosby scored two goals. They were his second and third goals of the season because, as mentioned before, he scored in the opener.

Both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are looking to have a big year in 2023-24.

Malkin had an even better game. He earned his first four points of the season in a big game. He scored one goal and had three assists to get himself off to a good start. Both of these guys are in the latter half of their careers now but they are still among the best players in the league.

The Penguins are hoping to get back into the playoffs this year after a horrible collapse last year ending their streak of making it. They have made some amazing additions which could be a big help but they need more of these types of nights from Crosby and Malkin.

Guys like Erik Karlsson, Kris Letang, Jake Guentzel, Reilly Smith, and Rickard Rakell are always going to be a big help to these two either on their wing or behind them on defense. They are going for that fourth cup of this era with their two center stars which is incredible.

It was really good to see these two Hall of Famers dominate like that. The league is better with them going strong. Hopefully, it continues for them. Their next game is coming on Saturday night against the Calgary Flames. It should be great to see a matchup like this.
