The New York Rangers had a lot going on in their Saturday night win
The New York Rangers are one of the top teams in the NHL this season. They have to get over the hump once the playoffs begin but there is no denying their regular season success this year.
In their most recent game, an odd 8-5 win over the Arizona Coyotes, a few great milestones were won. For one, Alexis Lafrenière had the first hat trick of his NHL career.
The young forward didn’t hit the ground running in the NHL as it took him a while to get going but he is firmly good now. He now has 25 goals/52 points on the season and he is only getting better.
Chris Kreider scored a goal that we thought would be the 300th in his NHL career. However, it was waved off and he had to wait. He did end up scoring again though. His 35th of the season stood up as his 300th. It was a wild ride to get there for Kreider but he has been so good for so long.

In the game, Adam Fox also collected a couple of assists which got him to 300 career points. He is one of the best defensemen in the NHL and deserves praise for the way that he plays in all three zones. There are plenty of more points where that came from.
Those were nice but Jonathan Quick set a record that is amazing for him. He won the game as the starting goaltender and he is now the all-time winningest American goalie. His 392nd win passed Ryan Miller for the all-time American mark.
Quick is going to go down as one of the most successful goalies in NHL history and there is already no denying him as the greatest American. With his two Stanley Cups, one Conn Smythe Trophy, and this record, he should be a lock for the Hall of Fame.
A lot has gone well for the Rangers lately. They are going to go into the playoffs feeling good about themselves. Their next game will come on Tuesday night at MSG against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
