The National Hockey League is set to begin in North America on Tuesday night. The New Jersey Devils and Buffalo Sabres already played two games against each other in Prague as part of the NHL’s Global Series but now the rest of the league will get going for real.
Of course, social media is a big part of sports today as all fans love to come together and discuss the games they love. The NHL is no different. Social media has its harms but one of the good things that comes from it is great hockey content.
Once the calendar flipped to October, every team’s official hashtag with an emoji attached to it was revealed. Some teams have the same one they’ve had for a while and some are new.
The NHL has some very creative hashtags across the league on social media
Just so you have them ahead of the year beginning, this is every team’s official hashtag:
Anaheim Ducks - #FlyTogether
Boston Bruins - #NHLBruins
Buffalo Sabres - #SabreHood
Calgary Flames - #Flames
Carolina Hurricanes - #RaiseUp
Chicago Blackhawks - #Blackhawks
Colorado Avalanche - #GoAvsGo
Columbus Blue Jackets - #CBJ
Dallas Stars - #TexasHockey
Detroit Red Wings - #LGRW
Edmonton Oilers - #LetsGoOilers
Florida Panthers - #TimeToHunt
Los Angeles Kings - #GoKingsGo

Toronto Maple Leafs - #LeafsForever
Utah Hockey Club - #UtahHC

There are a couple of notable changes. Of course, the Arizona Coyotes are now the Utah Hockey Club. Their first official hashtag is just the UTAH HC name. It’s plain and simple for their first year just like their name and uniforms.
The San Jose Sharks used to just have the SJ Sharks but they changed it to “The Future is Teal”. It’s a creative way to express their excitement about the future in San Jose. With the young players that they have coming in, they should be excited.
There were a few others that changed from last year like the Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes. The new Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings logos are also featured as emojis, which is really cool.
Now that everyone can keep their team’s hashtag right on social media, we are ready for NHL hockey to begin.
