    • Buffalo Sabres: Traverse City Tournament Let Down – The Buffalo Sabres NHL lineup has not been among the league’s elite over the past few seasons, but where Buffalo has dominated is at the Traverse City prospect tournament. The Sabres won the tournament in their first appearance and fell in the championship game the following year. This year, they were once again favored to win again. However, the Sabres offense was non-existent and the prospects managed to score only two goals. The round robin portion of the tournament closes out today, but the hopes of a Traverse City Championship are long gone for the Sabres. Perhaps the prospect tournament isn’t something to get upset about, but with the NHL roster likely to finish in the basement, a Traverse City victory would have at least provided something for Sabres fans to feel good about. • Ryan McDonagh Rumored To Be The Next Rangers Captain – On Sunday, The Score announced that the Rangers intend to name Ryan McDonagh as their next captain. If this holds true, it appears McDonagh will be announced as the franchise’s 27th captain during head coach Alain Vigneault‘s first press conference, scheduled for Thursday, September 18th. • Anaheim Ducks Depth At Center – The Anaheim Ducks looked to strengthen their depth at the Center position during the 2014 off season. Pucks Of A Feather takes an in-depth look at the Ducks options at Center and how they could fit into the lineup. [Pucks Of A Feather]
    • Arizona Coyotes Salary Cap Situation – After a busy off season, many teams find themselves right up against the salary cap. The Arizona Coyotes are not one of those teams. The Coyotes currently have $11 million in cap space and are just $7 million over the cap floor. Don’t expect the Coyotes to spend that extra cap space now, as they are notoriously stingy.
