NHL Storylines Tuesday Night Games
NHL Storylines Tuesday: (Oct.20, 2015)
NHL storylines Tuesday night are plentiful, even with only seven games on the schedule. We’ve got teams and players looking to break out of slumps, combined with the league’s best facing off head-to-head. Which is more likely to happen tonight, Sidney Crosby finally scores a point, or Columbus finally gets a win? Can the St.Louis Blues finally knock off the Montreal Canadiens to deliver them their first loss?

Florida @ Pittsburgh (7:00 PM EST)
Sidney Crosby has now matched a career worst five game pointless streak. He’s had his scoring chances but has come up empty so far. It’s likely Crosby is still getting acclimated to his new linemate Phil Kessel (who is also struggling). If the Penguins continue to struggle tonight and Sidney Crosby is once again left off the score-sheet, expect full panic mode in Pittsburgh.
NY Islanders @ Columbus (7:00 PM EST)
The winless 0-6 Blue Jackets play host to a surging New York Islanders team that has begun the season 3-1-1 with seven points. Columbus coach Todd Richards turns to backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney in tonight’s contest, likely in hopes of sparking more responsible defensive play. With rumors of Todd Richards being on the hot seat, and GM Jarmo Kekalainen on the market for a defenseman, tonight’s game could have a significant impact.

The hottest player in the NHL comes face-to-face with the best goaltender in NHL tonight. Vladimir Tarasenko goes head to head against Carey Price‘s undefeated Montreal Canadiens.
It’s also a battle of the two best teams in the NHL with St.Louis on top in the Western Conference with a record of 5-1-0 with 10 points. This will be the game to watch above all others on Tuesday night.
Dallas @ Philadelphia (7:30 PM EST)
The Stars have looked great early on with a 4-1-0 record scoring on all cylinders, while Philly is coming off back to back shutouts by backup Michal Neuvirth helping them to a 2-1-1 record. Both Neuvirth and Kari Lehtonen have been off to excellent starts, but it sounds as though they’ll each get the night off. Instead, Dallas will likely turn to Antti Niemi, who looks good early, while Philadelphia turns to their struggling starter Steve Mason.
Washington Capitals @ Calgary Flames (9:00 PM EST)
Finally with a healthy Nicklas Backstrom in the Caps lineup, Washington tries to build on a good 3-1-0 start. Calgary has an ugly goalie situation causing distractions, and is likely to blame for their poor goaltending performances thus far. Another dismal performances tonight could force a solution to the issue.
Other Games on the Schedule:
Arizona Coyotes @ New Jersey Devils (7:00 PM EST)
Coyotes have a 3-0 record on the road to begin the season, but dropped their last two at home.
Tampa Bay Lightning @ Nashville Predators (8:00 EST)
One of the league’s highest producing offensive teams clashes one of the league’s elite defensive team.
