Medicine Hat (WHL). Mason Shaw. 20. player. 105. The Ducks only had a single pick in the first round and with it, we selected left winger Maxime Comtois. So selecting Mason Shaw down the middle is great, also because he’s a highly talented player who will eventually play with someone like Comtois.. C/LW

Boston Univ. (NCAA). Jake Oettinger. 19. player. 109. Originally a pick of the Penguins, the Hurricanes acquired it when they moved Ron Hainsey. With the Hurricanes second pick in the second round, we have them selecting college star goaltender Jake Oettinger. This is a piece the Canes desperately need as they don’t have many goaltending prospects as it is.. G

99. In the first round, we had the St. Louis Blues selecting high scoring winger Kailer Yamamoto. So who would suit the team well after that selection? Someone down the middle who can mesh with him and no one better for the spot than USHL star Evan Barratt.. C. USA NTDP (USHL). Evan Barratt. 18. player

85. A pick that belonged to the Bruins before the Lee Stempniak deal, New Jersey now owns it. And with their second pick in the second round, we have the Devils selecting depth scorer Morgan Frost who has put up a solid 62 point season in his second year with Sault Ste. Marie.. C. Sault Ste. Marie (OHL). Morgan Frost. 17. player

Djurgardens (SHL). Marcus Davidsson. 16. player. 151. With Nashville’s only second round pick, we have them selecting center Marcus Davidsson who put up 10 points in nine games for the Djurgardens IF J20 team before he spent 45 games with the Djurgardens IF pro team putting up nine points.. C
