2. Nearly Winning The Stanley Cup

In many ways, the 2010-11 season was the best season for both of the Sedins. As mentioned earlier, Daniel won the scoring title and was selected by his peers as the most outstanding NHL player. He probably should have won the MVP too.

Also, it was the 40th season of the Canucks history in Vancouver. It was a very special season historically and it was nearly special for another reason. The Canucks finished with their highest point percentage of all-time (.713). They won the President’s Trophy as the NHL’s best regular season team.

The Canucks avenged previous losses to the Chicago Blackhawks, beating them in an epic seven-game series in the first round. They proceeded to curb stomp the Nashville Predators in six games and the San Jose Sharks in five games. This led them to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since the 1993-94 season.

Unfortunately, Vancouver didn’t beat the Boston Bruins in games six or seven. They had a 3-2 lead and just barely couldn’t inch out an additional win. This wound up being the best chance for the Sedins to bring a Stanley Cup to the city of Vancouver. It also led to the Canucks beginning to rebuild. In many ways, this is when the franchise’s decent to where they currently are started.
