10. Egor Zamula

Acquired: Undrafted (signed in 2018)

Age: 19

Position: Defense

Stats: 61 games, 10 goals, 46 assists, 56 points (Calgary Hitmen, WHL)

You can’t help but root for Egor Zamula to have success. He was given a shot with the Flyers during their rookie camp. Zamula impressed enough to earn himself a spot in their main training camp and even made two appearances in the preseason. He averaged nearly a point per game with the Calgary Hitmen.

At 6’3″, Zamula’s got good size for a defenseman. He knows how to use it too. Zamula is very solid in his own zone. His skating has improved a lot over the past year. Zamula isn’t afraid to take chances and can even lead the rush up the ice.

He needs to bulk up a little bit and he could stand to get better against faster forwards. But I really like the improvements Zamula has made and I think he’s got a shot at being an NHL guy, even if it’s not with the Flyers.

9. Wade Allison

Acquired: 2016 second-round pick

Age: 21 (turns 22 in October)

Position: Right Wing

Stats: 22 games, 8 goals, 7 assists, 15 points (Western Michigan University, NCAA)

Wade Allison got back on the ice last season after an ACL injury in January of 2018. He still isn’t 100% healthy, but I’ve still got time for him. Allison showed so much potential to start the 2017-18 season, I can’t write him off just because of one lost season. Especially when the reason for it is so obvious.

Allison has great size (6’2″) and even on a bad knee, his mobility was still above-average. Previously, it was terrific. Allison has enough skill to be a middle-six forward in the NHL. He’ll be returning to college for his senior season. Hopefully, a healthy season will give him his confidence back.

When Zamula and Allison are your 10th and 9th best prospects, that’s a really good sign.
