Arizona Coyotes

Next up on the list is a player who will be stuck on a bad team for a while. Clayton Keller has the most expensive contract in Arizona.

Keller is signed through the 2027-28 season at $7.15 million. The former seventh-overall pick from 2016 has spent his entire career in Arizona thus far, and that probably won’t change anytime soon.

Considering the rebuilding position the Coyotes are in, it is hard to imagine that any player will be paid higher in Arizona than Keller so this is a spot he could hole for the next few years.

Behind Keller, Nick Schmaltz makes $5.85 million while Andrew Ladd makes $5.5 million. Schmaltz and Keller both have a lot of good hockey ahead of them, and I could see the team trying to take on another contract like Ladd’s this season.
