The Similarities Between Marner and Kane

Mitch Marner is a prominent member of the Maple Leafs’ insane youth power core. Marner has been a standout player for the team and anyone who watches the rookie play can see the immediate similarities between the young budding star and one of the NHL’s best talents, Patrick Kane. [Editor-in-Leaf]

Looking at Rangers’ Future Re-Signs for Miller, Hayes

Two of the Rangers’ best talents are only contracted in for one more season before they’re in need of new contracts. J.T Miller and Kevin Hayes have both been standout players for the team and are both driving forces in New York’s success this season. The Rangers will need to be aware of the high worth of both these young forwards when they begin considering what their team will look like after next season; they can’t afford to lose these two staple players. Devils Have a Defensive Need for Next Season

The Devils need to be considering what they need to be the team they want to be for next season. New Jersey has had a rough season this year and they need to turn it around. If the Devils want to address their biggest need they need to turn to improving their defense so that they can allow the rest of their team to channel the right play. Once the team has solid defense, their goaltending can be less depended on and their forwards have the opportunity to focus on offense-first play. This means the Devils need to turn to, mostly, the draft and free agency to improve their team. [Pucks and Pitchforks]

Darling, Possible Isles Target?

The Isles need backup goaltending for Thomas Greiss and with Jean-Francois Berube leaving into free agency at the end of this season, the Isles need to move fast. The Hawks’ Scott Darling might be a good candidate for the Isles to pursue as he heads into free agency at the conclusion of this season. This is a fit that can make sense and Darling is a very attractive free agent this season, therefore the Isles will be looking to make him a good offer. [Eyes on Isles]

Canadiens and Senators Hit the Outdoors

The NHL has officially confirmed that the Canadiens and the Senators will hit the ice for an outdoor game next season, December 16th, at TD Place in Ottawa. The game has been long whispered about but has finally been confirmed and the excitement has been plentiful. Fans and players alike are already looking forward to the matchup next season. [SenShot]

Boston in For a Tough Run

The Bruins are headed for a rough run as they begin some consecutive games against their division rivals. Between their next matchup against the Maple Leafs, then the Senators and then throwing the Lightning into the mix, Boston is in for a tough run. Boston is trying to lock down their third place spot in the Atlantic standings, but aren’t too far from losing it to a rival, especially the Leafs who are currently the Conference’s second wild card and are only a few points away.
